Our Management Team
Stefan Adelaar
Originally from Holland, Stefan married his American wife in Europe and came to the U.S. for a 6-month visit. That was 1995. They’re still here, living in Seattle.
Stefan studied travel and tourism and worked as a local sightseeing guide in Amsterdam. He joined the Euro-Connection team in 1997. Officially he’s the General Manager but Stefan admits: “I wear many different hats. I’m an agent on the phone, I deal with hotels, rates, promotions, customer service, a little bit of everything.”
Stefan loves going back to Europe, visiting family and checking out new cities and towns. He’s particularly enamored of Italy and the Cinque Terre, a world heritage site on the Ligurian coast. “Hiking to each of the five little seaside villages, surrounded by terraced hills, vineyards and olive groves, it was an amazing experience.”
Now with two small kids Stefan expects his future travel will be a little different. “I definitely see traveling with children as an eye-opener, for them to experience other cultures and languages, that is huge. It’s a great gift.” Stefan recently visited Spain, Paris, France and the Normandy Coast. Ask him about it!
Stefan is part of the top 1% club, meaning he’s created 10,000+ custom itineraries, and attained a high level of expertise and professionalism that show his commitment to travel excellence.
Marlene Lampert
Marlene moved to the U.S. in 1996 but goes back to Europe every year to travel and visit family. “Being from Austria, I love the Alps. I’ve been on skis from the moment I could walk. I love the Alberg region, and in particular the resort town of Lech.”
Marlene is interested in art from Renaissance to modern and is an avid museum-goer. On a recent trip to Italy she finally visited the Vatican and St. Peters.
In Tuscany, she stayed at a small family-run hotel outside San Gimignano, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. They don’t have a public restaurant but if you ask, they’ll make their hotel guests an amazing home style five-course dinner using the best ingredients from local markets and their own kitchen garden.
“I love to sell experiences! I don’t see this as a job. I see it as helping someone out. We’re memory-creators.”
Marlene is another member of the top 1% club, meaning she’s created 10,000+ custom itineraries, and attained a high level of expertise and professionalism that show her commitment to travel excellence.
